Henry VIII, the playa MAN

Henry VIII lived between 1491 and 1547. He was crowned king in 1509 when he was about 18 years old.
He is well - known for his many wives, firstly Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Ann Parr. Henry the VIII divorced his first wife Catherine of Aragon for Anne Boleyn because she would not sleep with him unless he was divorced and married to her. However, for him to be allowed to divorce his first wife he had to turn away ffrom the Catholic Church and appointed himself head of the Church of England. He later executed Anne Boleyn because she did not provide him with a male heir. Henry later married Jane Seymour in 1536, however she died during childbirth in 1537. He then remarried again to Anne of Cleves, however due to her upbringing she was not suited for Henry's court and Henry is said to have not found Anne of Cleves attractive and therefore divorced her in 1540. In 1540, Henry VIII married the unfaithful Catherine Howard, daughter of Lord Edmund Howard. Catherine Howard was excuted by Henry the VIII for her unfaithfulness in 1542. Henry last wife Ann Parr outlived Henry who died in 1547

  2. Was there anything the King was not allowed to do? I mean, Henry VIII married six women, what can be worse?
I am so glad I live in the 21st century.
